Williams, Colin H. (1950- ; Welsh language)

Professor Colin H Williams, who was appointed to the School of Welsh, Cardiff University in 1993 as Research Professor, is a world-renowned authority on linguistic minorities and language planning/policy. He is Director of Postgraduate Studies at the School. He has authored many books dealing with topics in the Social Sciences, Human Geography and the Sociology of Language. The focus of his applied research is the condition of Welsh in contemporary Wales. A second research focus concerns the comparative analysis of selected political and social trends in Wales, Europe, North America and Japan. A third interest is the relationship between Christian witness, pacifism and non-violent resistance.
