prof. dr hab. Grażyna Skąpska, Jagiellonian University, Faculty of Philosophy, Institute of Sociology, Pracownicy; research interests focus on the theory of law as a social phenomenon, constitutionalism, legal, economic and social aspects of the rule of law during the post-communist transformation, issues of so-called "transitional justice", and changes in legal culture and awareness associated with the processes of European integration; – was awarded the first prize of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in 2012. The recipient of scholarships of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Goethe University Frankfurt), American Lawyers Foundation (Chicago), Collegium Budapest and Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, as well as working on a research project on totalitarian state law with the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History in Frankfurt am Main; Currently the chair of the Polish Sociological Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Sociological Association, in 2000-2004 she was vice-president of the International Institute of Sociology
