Willem Moll (born Dordrecht Febr.28, 1812- died Aug.16 Amsterdam 1879, Dutch Reformed, Nederlands Hervormd ) was the son of the merchant Jan Willem Moll (14 jan.1781 Rotterdam-5 juli 1853 Dordrecht) and Johanna van der Koogh (29 jan 1779 Dordrecht -30 mayi 1847 Dordrecht). In Military Service Willem Moll was an artillerist during the Dutch-Belgian Revolt ("Tiendaagse veldtocht", Aug. 1831) and he was encamped at Gorinchem, Woudrichem, Loevenstein and Den Bosch. In May 1837 he was nominated as a clergyman or vicar at Lage Vuursche (near Utrecht).Willem Moll was married twice. He was married first to Elisabeth van Brakel on June 28th 1837, his niece. After her death (Febr 11th 1848) he remarried to Anna Elisabeth Henriette Theodora Voet on July 12th 1848. He was the first Ŕector Magnificus ́of the University of Amsterdam (1846 - 1879) and cofounder of this University from the Atheneum Illustre
